V & C's Pressed Edible Flower Cake
What was inside?
This 3 tier buttercream, pressed edible flower, cake that was created for V & C this summer was hiding a host of delicious flavours inside! The couple decided on a different flavour for each tier so let me tell you what you would have found inside...
The top tier housed a blueberry, lime and coconut mix of flavours. Something light fruity and fun for their guests. The middle tier was a rich and indulgent salted caramel number, topped with milk chocolate ganache and a cream cheese buttercream. The final bottom tier was a crowd please - zesty lemon curd!
To bring all three tiers together, and to nod to the garden /farm vibe, we decided to dress the cake in a sweeping edible flower design using stemmed greenery to give the impression of the flowers growing along each of the tiers. It's sharp edge and full buttercream based kept it classy and timeless, we steered clear of anything that felt too barn wedding style or boho. The bright fresh flowers gave us the natural touch then, with is organic placement creating a relaxed feel.
